If yes, then read on.<\/p>\n<p>On January 10<sup>th<\/sup> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.holisticmoms.org\/aboutus\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Holistic Moms Network<\/a>\u00a0invited me to answer questions at their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.everywomanover29.com\/blog\/food-and-mood-holistic-moms-network-twitter-party\/\" target=\"_blank\">January 10<sup>th<\/sup> twitter party on Food and Mood<\/a>. It was a great virtual \u201cevent\u201d with really great questions.<\/p>\n<p>A colleague, Mira Dessy, Certified Nutrition Educator and holistic health columnist, provided a <a href=\"http:\/\/grainsandmore.blogspot.com\/2012\/01\/twitter-party-holisticmoms.html\" target=\"_blank\">great summary<\/a>\u00a0of much of the discussion. I added <a href=\"https:\/\/www.everywomanover29.com\/blog\/hmn-food-mood-sugar-and-cravings\" target=\"_blank\">some information on sugar and cravings<\/a>\u00a0and I\u2019d like to add to the discussion on <strong>zinc.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There are a <strong>subset of anxious people who do need higher amounts than the average person<\/strong>. From Mira\u2019s blog \u201c<em>Zinc can be found in beef (grass fed is best), calf liver, venison, spinach, shitake mushrooms, and pumpkin seeds. It&#8217;s very important for pregnant women and children to get enough zinc with the addendum that zinc is a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">trace<\/span> mineral and we do not need massive doses of it<\/em>.\u201d I agree, we don\u2019t need massive doses but if you have <strong>pyroluria <\/strong>(<strong>anxiety, social phobia, inner tension you cover up<\/strong> \u2013 here is the complete <a href=\"https:\/\/www.everywomanover29.com\/blog\/pyroluria-questionnaire-from-the-antianxiety-food-solution\/\" target=\"_blank\">pyroluria questionnaire<\/a>)\u00a0you will benefit from zinc and vitamin B6 supplements (at a minimum).<\/p>\n<p>Again, <strong>thanks to Mira<\/strong> and <a href=\"http:\/\/grainsandmore.blogspot.com\/2012\/01\/twitter-party-holisticmoms.html\" target=\"_blank\">read her blog<\/a>\u00a0to get the rest of the discussion.
