It is called <em>Sweet Misery: Seven spoonfuls of wisdom about sugar. <\/em> Cathy has done an amazing job explaining why we don\u2019t want sugar in our diets!<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cSugar can raise cholesterol<\/strong><strong>,   it suppresses the immune system<\/strong><strong>, it has been connected to cancer<\/strong><strong>, it masks other problems (such as anxiety or depression<\/strong><strong>), it speeds<\/strong><strong> the aging<\/strong><strong> process, it is linked to candida, IBS and other digestive<\/strong><strong> problems, and finally <\/strong>it<strong> <\/strong><strong>can prevent us from eating the good stuff<\/strong><strong>\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cCraving sugar does not mean we\u2019re weak or that we\u2019re a failure. It means we\u2019ve got some <strong>brain chemistry, nutrient or hormonal imbalances<\/strong> that need fixing, or perhaps candida.
